Adult Day Services
Adult Day Center
Provides opportunities for socialization and wellness that support independence for our community’s seniors. Nutritionally balanced breakfasts and hot lunches are served to all participants. Programs include: computer instruction, yoga, exercise and strength training, diabetic support, health monitoring and education, ceramics and crafts, music, spiritual programs and personal enrichment in a warm and diverse community setting.
Social Day Program
Provides services and access to supervised activities in the Adult Day Center that fosters socialization and supports independence for frail elderly, at risk for institutionalization and/or nursing home care. Available services in addition to components in the Adult Day Center include transportation, referral to case management services and other community resources, assistance on outings and trips, and caregiver support/assistance.
Day Habilitation Services
Provides supervised recreational services to mature (35+) developmentally disabled adults that support choice and independence in an inclusive peer environment. Participants must be waiver-enrolled and within the service area of the CNY DSO. Specialized services include access to Adult Day Center activities, transportation, supervised outings and nursing services provided by an on-staff LPN.
Care Case Management Services
Provides information and referral services, case assistance and advocacy to seniors 60 years or older, residing in Onondaga County and their families/caregivers. The goal of the program is to support independence through community linkages to prevent the need for institutional care. Services include a needs assessment including the development/implementation of a service plan. The program also provides general assistance with entitlement/assistance programs, including Medicaid.
Adult Day Center Director, Linda McNally, receives award from County
Linda McNally, the Adult Day Center Director, will be recognized with the Senior Services Professional of the Year Award on May 17 in a ceremony with County Executive Nicholas Pirro. This award is given annually to an individual who has made significant contributions in a career field that positively affects older people.
