Donations
It is only through donations from caring individuals, corporations, and foundations that The Salvation Army is able to provide service to those in need in the Central New York area 365 days a year. When you make a financial contribution to Syracuse Area Services, the money is used to meet the immediate needs of those in crisis, and to help them change their difficult situations. Every donation makes a difference.

You can help The Salvation Army help others by contributing in one of the following ways:

Author and management expert, Peter Drucker, identified The Salvation Army as, “by far the most effective organization in the United States.”  All charitable donations are invested in the lives of men, women and children Members of the 174th Fighter Wing volunteer on Drop Off Dayin our community.

We work hard to identify resources available to support our work in this community. Many of our services are funded through government grants and contracts. You may not know this, but every $1 we receive helps us secure up to an additional $3 worth of donated supplies and governement grants to help the people we serve. That means your gift will have an even greater impact!

Donations of non-perishable food items can be used at our food pantry, which is open 5 days a week.

Donations of used clothing, furniture and other household items may be made to The Salvation Army Thrift Stores.  Call 315-445-0520 to hear donation times or to schedule a pickup of donated items.

Through the sale of used items in The Salvation Army Thirift Stores supports The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center ministries, which is an in-residence rehabilitation program with a focus on basic necessities. Each beneficiary (program participant) is provided with a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, spiritual direction, and resources to assist each person to develop life skills and a personal relationship with God as provided by Jesus Christ.
