The Salvation Army’s Annual Civic Celebration is one of Syracuse’s most enduring community events, which attracts over 650 community and business leaders as well as individual supporters of The Salvation Army. The Civic Celebration is an event to honor selected community members for their civic and charitable efforts, to update supporters on our work, and to hear from a nationally known speaker.This year's event will be held on Wednesday, October 6 at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at Oncenter. Lunch will begin promptly at 12 noon and end at 1:30pm. Tickets are $150 and can be purchased by calling 479-1321 or for more information e-mail us here. Community Team Spirit Awards will be given to Robert Simpson and Darlene Kerr on their successful merger of the Metropolitan Development Association and the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce into CenterState CEO. The Others Award, a National Salvation Army designation, will be presented to Kenneth 'Buzz' and Mary Ann Shaw. A silent auction will once again be held this year. Over 6 dozen items will be available to bid on. Bidders will have the chance to preview the items and make bids before the event by visiting our website between September 17 - October 5.
