Holiday Volunteer Opportunities
Dome Donation Day – November 15. Join in this annual tradition of kicking off our holiday efforts. Help us collect food and monetary donations as fans enter the Carrier Dome before the SU Football game against Louisville.
Christmas Tree Lighting Bell Sale – Friday, November 28. Ring in the season by ringing bells and collecting donations at the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Clinton Square.
Red Kettle Campaign – November 28 – December 24. Be a part of this Christmas tradition. Help us collect donations in our famous Red Kettles by ringing bells at area malls. This is a great group volunteer activity.
Food and Mini Tree of Lights Drive – November 1 – December 12. Coordinate a food drive or a Mini Tree of Lights Drive at your business, school or church to provide for our less fortunate neighbors.
Christmas Bureau Distribution Registration – Monday, December 1 – Wednesday, December 17. Assist us in registering low-income families so that they can receive toys, books and food on Christmas Bureau Distribution Day.
Christmas Gift Shop – Friday, December 12 – Friday, December 19. Sort gifts that have been donated for Salvation Army clients. Assist in the distribution of items to programs.
Distribution Day Preparations December 17 - 22. Help us prepare for Christmas Bureau Distribution Day by sorting food and toys and packing stocking stuffers.
Christmas Bureau Distribution Day – December 23 - Help us distribute toys, books, food and stocking stuffers to over 2,500 low-income families in Onondaga County at the Oncenter.
